Taupe melange sits between grey and brown and works as a calm, non-seasonal colour in both womenswear and menswear collections. The melange effect gives a softer colour transition, making it easy to combine with both cool and warm shades.

2/1 rib at 300 g/m² provides more stability than lightweight rib. This is especially noticeable in finishes where the rib needs to hold its shape after repeated stretching. Use this quality for rib cuffs on sweatshirts, necklines on hoodies and sleeve finishes on jackets. Many also choose this weight for fitted garments such as dresses, tops and skirts when you want a rib fabric that is not see-through.

The crosswise elasticity makes the rib comfortable to wear, while the elastane helps maintain fit. The result is a rib that drapes nicely without losing direction in the rib channels.

Fabric shops often buy taupe melange as a “bridge colour” in the core weight. Smaller producers use it in short runs because the shade can be reordered and remains consistent from roll to roll.

Wash at 30 degrees, preferably inside out. Avoid tumble drying to preserve elasticity and shape.
