2/1 Rib — Dark Brown Melange is rib knit jersey in 95% cotton and 5% elastane, 300 g/m² and 95 – 100 cm wide.

Dark brown melange gives a deep look without becoming solid-colour “flat”. The melange base makes the colour more forgiving in ranges where you need to match multiple lots, and it works well with natural tones, denim shades and warm core colours.

2/1 rib in this weight is often used as rib trims on sweatshirts and loungewear, where the edge needs to hold its shape. It also works as the main fabric for close-fitting tops, dresses and skirts when you want a rib with more body. 300 g/m² provides a strong balance between stability and freedom of movement.

In production, the rib is easy to work with because the dense structure gives neat overlocking and less tendency to “curl” at the cut edge than lighter rib. This gives a more predictable process when cutting many sizes within the same bulk order.

Fabric shops often choose dark brown melange as an all-season colour, and smaller producers use it for core styles where reordering and consistency from roll to roll is important.

Wash at 30 degrees, preferably inside out. Avoid tumble drying to preserve elasticity and minimise shrinkage.
