Optical white cotton jersey is often used as a base in collections where you want a clean, crisp white for T-shirts, long-sleeve tops, leggings and slips. It also works as a base colour for styles where labels, prints or appliqués will be applied, as the colour looks uniform.

The dense jersey at 220 g/m² provides good coverage in finished garments without being too heavy. The knit is stable yet still elastic, giving garments good freedom of movement. The quality is also easy to plan with in production, as the width remains stable and you get predictable consumption.

Fabric shops often choose optical white as a standard item, as demand is steady throughout the year. Smaller manufacturers use the colour for core programmes where reorders need to match the same look. Consistent colour from roll to roll makes it easier to maintain a uniform collection without unwanted shade variation.

Wash at 30 degrees inside out. Avoid tumble drying. Use a mild detergent.
