Optical white cotton jersey is often used as a staple base in collections when you want a clean, bright white for T-shirts, long-sleeve tops, leggings and slips. It also works as a base colour for styles where labels, prints or appliqués will be added, because the colour looks uniform.

The dense 220 g/m² knit provides good coverage in finished garments without being too heavy. The knit is stable, yet still elastic, giving the garment good freedom of movement. The quality is also easy to plan with in production because the width remains stable and you get predictable consumption.

Fabric shops often choose optical white as a standard stock item, as demand stays steady all year. Smaller manufacturers use the colour for core programs where reorders must match the same look. Wash at 30 degrees inside out. Avoid tumble drying. Use a mild detergent.
