Navy blue is a classic, dark blue base colour often used for T-shirts, tops, leggings and bodysuits, when you want solid colour yardage with good freedom of movement. The quality also works well in kidswear ranges because the elastane helps the garment keep its shape in use.

Cotton with lycra gives good crosswise elasticity and a stable drape, so the garment does not feel limp, but also does not become too heavy. The knit is dense enough for the colour to look even, and the dark shade is easy to combine with both light tones and strong contrast colours.

Fabric shops and smaller producers often choose navy blue as a permanent stock colour because it sells all year and can be used across collections. Solid colour production depends on repeatability, so consistent colour reproduction from roll to roll is prioritised for reorders.

Wash at 30 degrees inside out. Avoid tumble drying to maintain shape stability wash after wash.
