Rust velour gives furniture and cushions a soft velour surface with depth in the colour. The fabric is 100% polyester, weighs 360 g/m² and is 145 cm wide.

Rust is a burnt orange with a red-brown depth. It brings warmth to a living room and is widely used on armchairs, seat pads and cushions, where it pairs with cognac, olive green and off-white.

The pile lies in one direction, so the colour shifts slightly when the fabric is seen from different angles. That is normal for velour and gives depth across large surfaces. Cut all pieces with the pile running the same way so the colour matches across the whole piece of furniture.

Abrasion resistance is 140,000 Martindale, enough for furniture that sees hard use, for example in waiting rooms, cafés and offices. The fabric scored 5 in the pilling test, so very few bobbles form in normal use.

The fabric is made for trade buyers: upholsterers, furniture makers and shops that sell fabric by the metre. We keep the colour in stock, so you can reorder as you go. Dark and strong colours can transfer to light fabrics, especially when damp, so keep that in mind if the velour will sit against light cushions or throws.

Vacuum regularly with a soft nozzle and blot spills straight away with a damp cloth. Always test cleaning on a hidden spot before treating the whole surface.
