Olive brown velour gives cushions, footstools and headboards a soft velour surface with depth in the colour. The fabric is 100% polyester without a felt backing, weighs 360 g/m² and is 145 cm wide.

Olive brown is a dark, muted brown with a green undertone. It is the darkest and least golden of the three olive shades: olive, bronze and olive brown. We suggest it for footstools and headboards. It goes with cream, rust, black metal and light wood.

Without a felt backing the fabric is supple and easy to sew, so it suits cushions, footstools, headboards and slipcovers with sewn seams. For furniture that is upholstered and stapled, we recommend our sturdier upholstery velour with a felt backing.

Like all velour, the fabric shows a slight shading effect when the pile is brushed in different directions. Lay all pattern pieces with the pile in the same direction when cutting, so a sofa or a headboard gets the same shade everywhere.

Pilling is tested at 5 on a scale of 1 to 5, and light fastness is 4–5, so the colour holds up in a bright room too. Abrasion resistance is 140,000 Martindale.

The quality is ordered by upholsterers, furniture makers and fabric shops that need a velour they can reorder in the same colour. All colours share the same weight and width, so they can be combined in one project. Dark and strong colours can transfer to light fabrics, especially when damp, so keep that in mind if the velour will sit against light cushions or throws.

Keep the surface clean with a soft brush or a vacuum cleaner. Blot spills with a damp white cloth, and test any cleaning on a hidden spot first.
