Blue heavy satin is often used for lining, details and classic garments when you want a clear sheen and an even surface. The colour works well in runs for e.g. skirts, blouses, light jacket linings and decorations, where a uniform colour field is important for the overall look.

Polyester satin at 120 g/m² gives a beautiful drape without being too heavy. The material drapes nicely in folds and moves lightly, which is practical when you want to create volume without weight. At the same time, the quality has a stability that makes it suitable for repeat production, where pattern pieces need to lay the same from run to run.

A question from buyers is often: Which needle do you use for satin? Typically choose a fine universal or Microtex needle and do a test seam, so you avoid snags and get a clean stitch appearance.

Fabric shops and smaller producers often buy heavy satin as a stock item because it covers multiple uses and is easy to match with other fashion fabrics. Consistent width from roll to roll makes consumption easier to calculate for reorders.

Wash gently at a low temperature. Preferably turn inside out. Avoid tumble drying and test ironing on a small piece.
