Black brushed french terry is a solid staple in many ranges, as the colour works across themes and seasons. This quality is often used for sweatshirts, hoodies, joggers and tracksuits where a warm inner face and a smooth outer face are required.

The brushed reverse gives a warmer and softer feel than unbrushed, while the knit construction still provides 4-way stretch. This offers good freedom of movement and a fit that works for both relaxed and more close-fitting cuts.

Black can be demanding in production because small colour differences are quickly visible when sewing together with trims. The colour is supplied consistently from roll to roll, so you can reorder and combine with rib and cords without changing the overall look.

Fabric shops and smaller clothing manufacturers often stock black as an inventory item for basics programmes and repeat deliveries. This provides a stable item that can be used both in your own production and sold as yardage to customers who need standard colours.

Wash at 30 degrees, preferably inside out. Avoid tumble drying, and hang to dry to keep the surface looking neat wash after wash.
