The sandwashed finish gives a premium linen-look without compromising – the fabric is still 100% cotton and retains cotton’s soft comfort. The mid grey tone delivers a classic, calm expression that is easy to build a colour palette around.

Grey sandwashed cotton is often used for shirts, dresses, lightweight trousers and summerwear when you want a more matte and textured look than standard cotton canvas. The quality is also relevant for cushion covers and other simple home details when you want woven cotton with a nice drape.

The sandwashing gives the fabric a more supple hand feel and makes the surface look less “new”. This is an advantage for garments where you want a relaxed look from the first wear.

Fabric shops often choose grey as a stable core item because it can remain a fixed part of the range all year. Smaller producers use it for capsule ranges where a colour is needed that works for both light and dark combinations. Consistent colour reproduction from roll to roll makes it easier to keep the same tone when reordering.

Wash at 30–40 degrees. Avoid tumble drying. Iron if needed.
