The sandwashed finish gives a premium linen-look without compromise. The fabric is still 100% cotton and retains cotton’s soft comfort. The dusty mint shade fits well in Scandinavian colour palettes and works for both timeless core collections and small seasonal drops.

This quality is often used for shirts, dresses, trousers and summerwear with a more relaxed look. The woven construction provides stability in fit and is suitable when you want more control than with single jersey knit fabrics. At the same time, the fabric feels softer and more “washed” than classic cotton canvas, giving a more mature look in the finished garment.

Sandwashed cotton is a practical choice in production because the surface already has the matte, lightly textured character many otherwise try to achieve via after-finishing. This makes it easier to achieve a consistent look across a range. In response to a typical buying question: sandwashed means the fabric is pre-finished to create a washed, soft surface and a linen-inspired look, without altering the fibre.

Fabric shops and smaller clothing manufacturers often choose sandwashed core colours as stock items, because they are easy to sell alongside both prints and solid colours.

Wash at 30 degrees. Avoid tumble drying to preserve the surface.
