The 80 g/m² chiffon provides an airy fabric that drapes nicely without becoming heavy. The sheer surface makes it suitable when you want to build volume with layers or soften a print or base colour. Use French seams or rolled hems for a clean finish and plan with lining if the garment should be less transparent.

Fabric stores often choose red chiffon as a permanent colour in their range because it can be sold both as a full colour and as part of a palette. Smaller manufacturers use it for short series where fabric consumption can be calculated steadily on a consistent width.

Wash gently at low temperature. Avoid tumble drying. Hang to dry and use low heat when ironing.
