Bordeaux chiffon is often used when you want a deep colour with a lightweight look. The shade works well in occasion collections and as a colour point in more subdued colour cards. Plan for lining or a double layer if you want more coverage. For a stable production flow, it helps to cut in single layers, use fine needles and keep seam allowances narrow. A rolled hem is a common edge finish.

Fabric stores choose bordeaux as a colour that sells well in periods focused on parties and evening styles, but which can also be used year-round in accessories. Smaller manufacturers use chiffon as an overlay because the material creates an elegant look with low weight and predictable usage per style.

Wash gently at low temperature. Avoid tumble drying. Hang to dry and iron on low heat.
