Off-white fabric gives a softer and more muted look than optical white and is often used for sweatshirts, jogger sets, sweatshirt-look dresses and basic styles for both children and adults. The shade works well with natural tones, beige and dusty colours in a coordinated colour palette.

Brushed french terry has a brushed reverse side, which provides a warm inside. This is an advantage in ranges that sell in the cooler months, when customers request fabric by the metre for garments with more warmth. The construction is still jersey-based and provides 4-way stretch, so garments have good freedom of movement.

Off-white as a standard colour is a good choice when you want a calm basic that can be reordered and combined with prints. Many fabric shops and smaller producers use it as a neutral base in ongoing programmes, because the colour is not seasonal and fits into multiple collections.

Wash at 30 degrees with the reverse side out. Avoid tumble drying to protect the brushed back.
