About this print

French Terry – Dark red is french terry knit (brushed) made from 94% cotton and 6% lycra, 230 g/m², and 158 – 163 cm wide.

Specifications:
– Material: 94% cotton, 6% lycra
– Weight: 230 g/m²
– Width: 158 – 163 cm
– Certification: Oeko-Tex 100
– Stretch: 4-way
– Construction: French terry knit (brushed)

Dark red fabric in brushed french terry is often used for sweatshirts, cardigans, joggers and dresses in a more calm, classic colour palette. The shade adds depth without reading as black, and it works well in both womenswear and menswear when a solid colour fabric with more weight is required.

The brushed back creates a warmer surface than unbrushed qualities with loops on the reverse. At the same time, you get a stable knit fabric that still has 4-way stretch and therefore provides good mobility in the garment.

Dark red fabric is a colour choice many buyers use as an alternative to black and navy when the range needs expanding without changing the overall look significantly. The colour is perceived as consistent from roll to roll, which is important for reorders and production across multiple batches.

This quality is typically purchased by fabric shops and smaller manufacturers that want a standard brushed french terry for core styles, but in a more mature colour. 230 g/m² sits in a practical range where the fabric provides body without being too heavy.

Wash at 30 degrees with the wrong side out. Avoid tumble drying, and use a mild detergent.

Pair with matching or contrast rib from Rib jersey for a consistent finish.
