Navy is a more classic and calm alternative to black. Wide-wale corduroy in navy is often used for trousers, blazer-inspired jackets, overshirts and childrenswear when you want a clearly ribbed look and a colour that works across many collections.

The woven corduroy structure gives the fabric a controlled shape and a “drier” drape than many jersey fabrics. At the same time, 2% elastane means you get a little extra flexibility in the fit, making this quality relevant for cuts with more movement.

A production question is often whether corduroy curls or is troublesome when cutting. The wide wales help you keep track of grain direction and pattern pieces if you cut all parts in the same nap direction. This creates a more uniform look in the finished garments.

Fabric shops and smaller producers choose navy because the colour sells steadily and is easy to replenish. When you buy corduroy wholesale, it is an advantage to combine core colours like navy with other fabrics in the same shipment.

Wash at 30 degrees. Avoid tumble drying. Iron on low heat on the reverse side.
