The red colour and slightly shiny surface create a classic look that is often used for seasonal items and collections focused on depth of colour. Silk velour is typically chosen for dresses, skirts, tops and details such as loops and ribbons for decoration when you want a more vibrant expression than a matte fabric by the metre. The surface reflects light differently depending on the direction of the nap. This creates variation in the colour appearance on the same roll and is part of velour’s character. Cut with the nap direction in mind, and preferably make a small test layout before cutting larger pieces.
