Caramel is a warm lining colour that creates a clear, yet still calm contrast in coats, jackets and blazers, where the inside can have more depth. Acetate lining is also often used in dresses and skirts, especially when the outer fabric is in earthy tones or warm shades. The quality is relevant both for fabric shops that sell lining by the metre and for smaller producers who want a consistent lining type in their range.

The glossy surface provides a neat interior and supports easier glide when worn. At the same time, the low weight makes it possible to line without adding unnecessary heaviness to the construction. The question of how much lining you need depends on the style and pattern pieces. As a rule of thumb, many buyers estimate the same consumption as the outer fabric for a fully lined jacket, but subtract for example the collar and facings if they are not lined.

The lining is supplied as a stock item in a standard quality, making it suitable for repeated reorders. Uniform quality makes planning easier when multiple colours are included in the same range.

Wash at 30 degrees on a gentle cycle. Avoid tumble drying. Always test on a sample before pressing.
