The burgundy melange color gives a classic look with surface play. Boiled wool in bouclé construction is often used for jackets, vests, ponchos and lined outerwear where you want warmth and a surface with character. Smaller manufacturers also use the quality for accessories such as scarves and simple bags when a wool product with more structure is desired.
Bouclé gives a more vibrant surface than smooth wool. This can be an advantage in collections where you want to hide small signs of wear and get a more textile look. The construction also has a firmness that makes it suitable for styles that need to hold their shape.
Shoppers often ask if boiled wool frays a lot at the edges. Boiled wool (bouclé) typically frays less than many woven wool fabrics, but edges should still be secured with edge stitching, lining or a clean finish depending on the model.
Follow the washing instructions in the specification table. Wool rarely withstands heavy machine washing. Avoid tumble drying to preserve dimensions and surface.
