600D oxford is often used for bags, tote bags with a firm shape, seat cushions and outdoor projects where you want a robust fabric by the metre with coating. The Terra shade sits in a calm, earthy palette and fits well in ranges inspired by nature. The colour works both as a solid base and as a contrast to, for example, black, navy and beige.

The quality has a firm handle, which helps when you want to build products that need to hold their shape. It gives more controlled sewing in panels, pockets and reinforcements, and the finished look becomes less “flimsy” than with thinner fabrics. The waterproof rating is stated as cm H2O, which makes it easier to compare with other outdoor qualities when sourcing. A common question is whether a higher cm H2O is always better. Higher numbers generally provide more resistance to water pressure, but weight, flexibility and price can change, so the figure should be assessed together with the end use.
