Navy blue denim is often used for jeans, skirts, shackets and workwear-inspired styles when you want a more subdued alternative to black. The navy shade works well in core programmes and can be paired with both light and dark colours within the same collection.

The 195 g/m² weight provides a denim that drapes nicely in trouser legs and skirts, while still having enough body to hold its shape. The elastane content improves freedom of movement in the garment and can reduce the risk of the fit feeling stiff in wear.

A question that often comes from purchasing is: How much elastane should stretch denim contain? 5% elastane typically gives noticeable stretch without losing the denim look, and is a level many producers use for comfort jeans.

Fabric shops often buy navy as a “core colour” because it is easy to sell year-round. Smaller producers choose it for series where you want a consistent look and a colour that works across multiple sizes.

Wash at 30 degrees and inside out. Avoid tumble drying to protect the elastane.
