Blue stretch denim is often used for jeans, denim-look shirts, skirts and childrenswear when you want a more classic “jeans blue” colour. The mid-blue tone gives a clear denim look and can be combined with white, grey and contrast colours within the same range.

The 195 g/m² weight is a good level when you want a denim that does not feel heavy, yet still looks solid in finished garments. The elastane content contributes to better mobility and can make the fit more consistent across styles.

A practical production question is often: Should stretch denim be pre-washed? With woven cotton blends, many recommend testing wash and shrinkage on a sample first, so patterns can be adjusted before cutting larger runs.

Fabric shops often choose jeans blue as a colour that sells broadly and can be kept as a stock line on the shelf. Manufacturers use it for core jeans and updated classics where the customer expects the familiar blue tone.

Wash at 30 degrees and inside out. Avoid tumble drying, as it can put strain on the elastane.
