Navy interlock is often used for T-shirts, underwear and babywear when you want a classic, dark core colour with a dense and calm surface. The colour is also ideal for schoolwear and core programmes where the fabric needs to work across collections, for example for tops, leggings and all-in-ones.

Interlock is double knit, giving a more stable structure than single jersey knit. The quality has good opacity and an even look, making it suitable for solid-colour styles where seams and fit need to look clean. Stretch in both length and width provides good movement in the finished garment.

Fabric shops often order navy as a permanent standard item because demand is stable and because the colour matches many prints and rib colours without feeling harsh. Smaller manufacturers use the dark base when they want to minimise colour risk in production and ensure a consistent look across batches.

Wash at 30 degrees, preferably inside out. Avoid tumble drying to preserve colour and measurements.
