Black interlock is often used for T-shirts, underwear and baby clothing when you want a dense jersey with good coverage and a more stable look than single jersey knit fabric. The double knit construction provides an even surface that works well for both simple basic styles and ranges where the colour needs to look calm and consistent.

The dense knit gives less transparency and more “body” in the fabric. This makes black interlock relevant when you want to avoid the fabric becoming too thin in use, or when working with fits that require a stable quality. 4-way stretch also provides mobility, so garments feel comfortable in wear.

Fabric shops often stock black interlock as a core basic because the colour sells year-round. Smaller manufacturers choose the quality for short series where you want to repeat the same fit and get a consistent base from order to order.

Wash at 30 degrees. Preferably wash inside out. Avoid tumble drying when you want to preserve shape and surface.
