Wide-wale corduroy is often used for trousers, skirts, shirts with more body and lightweight jackets when you want surface texture. The sand colour is a calm neutral that fits into timeless colour schemes and can be used year-round.

The wide wales create a distinct look and a more robust surface. The cotton makes the quality breathable, and the 280 g/m² weight gives a good hand without the material becoming too heavy. The corduroy holds its shape well in wear when you work with styles that need a bit more “body” than a smooth fabric.

Fabric shops often bring in wide-wale corduroy as an alternative to denim and canvas because the surface adds variety to the range. Smaller producers use it when developing styles with clear texture that also works in solid-colour series.

Wash at 30 degrees and preferably inside out to protect the wale surface. Avoid tumble drying. Press on low heat on the wrong side if you want to preserve the texture.

Combine with woven fabrics from Solid colour poplin if you want to offer customers more stable qualities in the same colour tone.
