Olive brown upholstery velour is made for upholstery: 100% polyester with a soft, dense pile on the face and a firm felt backing. It weighs 350 g/m² and is 142 cm wide.

Olive brown is a dark, muted brown with a green undertone. It is the darkest and least golden of the three olive shades: olive, bronze and olive brown. We suggest it for dining chairs and cushions. It goes with cream, rust, black metal and light wood.

Choose this quality when the fabric will be stapled to a frame. The felt backing adds strength and stability in upholstery. If you are sewing cushions or seat pads, our thinner velour without a felt backing is easier to work with.

The pile lies in one direction, so the colour shifts slightly when the fabric is seen from different angles. That is normal for velour and gives depth across large surfaces. Cut all pieces with the pile running the same way so the colour matches across the whole piece of furniture.

Abrasion resistance is 125,000 Martindale, enough for furniture that sees hard use, such as dining chairs, office chairs and benches in public spaces.

The fabric is made for trade buyers: upholsterers, furniture makers and shops that sell fabric by the metre. The colour can be reordered as you go. Dark and strong colours can transfer to light fabrics, especially when damp, so keep that in mind if the velour will sit against light cushions or throws.

Vacuum regularly with a soft nozzle and blot spills straight away with a damp cloth. Always test cleaning on a hidden spot before treating the whole surface.
