Faux suede in denim gives furniture a soft, matt surface with a suede look. The fabric is woven from 100% polyester, weighs 330 g/m² and is 145 cm wide.

Denim is a dark blue with a greenish cast, close to petrol. It is used for sofas, headboards and cushions where a dark colour with more life than black or navy is wanted.

The woven construction keeps the fabric stable, so it does not pull out of shape when stretched over a frame or a foam pad. The surface is water repellent: spilled liquid beads up and can be wiped off before it soaks in. Over 45,000 Martindale means it handles daily use.

Upholsterers and furniture makers use the fabric for new pieces and for re-covering, and fabric shops stock it as a standard line. With 30 colours in the same quality, colours can be combined across a range.

Liquid is best removed with kitchen paper before it has time to soak in. For a tougher stain, use a microfibre cloth with a little mild soapy water, and test on a spot that does not show.
