Yellow excavators create a clear motif on the grey base. The fine wales of baby corduroy add texture to the surface without hiding the pattern. The quality can be used for shirts, dresses, trousers and lightweight jackets. The machine motif makes the fabric suitable for a children’s clothing range where the same theme should recur across several styles.

As a woven fabric, baby corduroy does not have the give of knit fabric. Choose patterns with appropriate ease of movement. The lengthwise wales are also worth considering during cutting. Place pattern pieces in the same direction if the surface should look uniform on the finished garment. At the same time, plan the placement of the excavators on visible parts before calculating the final fabric consumption.

For fabric shops, a clear machine motif can be a way to group related items into a defined children’s clothing theme. Smaller producers can use the fabric by the metre for short runs with several styles in the same print. The 145 cm width provides a fixed starting point for the cutting plan. When producing multiple sizes, calculate extra consumption if the excavators must be positioned consistently on the garments.
