Black velour is cotton velour in a polyester–cotton blend, with a soft and dense velour surface and a distinctive matte finish in deep black.

Black velour is used for children’s clothing, sweatshirts, loose-fitting trousers, loungewear and lined jackets. The dark, neutral colour is ideal for garments that need broad mix-and-match potential – for both children and adults. The thickness and soft pile make it suitable for clothing that needs to be warm and comfortable in colder months.

The velour surface gives the fabric a light texture and a drape that falls naturally without clinging. This means garments sit loosely and move with the body – especially good for relaxed loungewear and leisurewear with an easy fit. The pile is uniform and does not noticeably change direction when cutting, keeping production straightforward.

Cotton velour is primarily ordered by small clothing producers, fabric shops and hobby sewists working with seasonal collections or production runs in classic colours. Black is a standard colour in most productions – stock item with consistent colour reproduction from roll to roll and ready for dispatch the same business day for orders placed before 12:00.

Wash at 30 degrees inside out. Avoid tumble drying – hang to dry to preserve the softness of the pile.
