Tweed checks – Lilac/blue is a woven tweed fabric in 70% cotton and 30% polyester and 140–145 cm wide.

Lilac and blue checks create a classic look with a clear structure, often used for jackets, short coats, skirts and simple vests when you want a fabric with more body than standard cotton. The tweed construction also helps garments hold a nice shape when working with straighter cuts and clean lines.

Woven tweed has a firmer handling than knitted qualities. This makes it easier to cut accurately and keep seams and edges sharp. The surface feels soft, but the fabric still has the characteristic tweed texture that adds depth to the checks.

Colour play in checks can vary slightly from roll to roll, especially when multiple yarns are included in the pattern. For production runs, we recommend ordering in one lot to minimise the risk of visible shifts within the same run. This quality is relevant for fabric shops and smaller producers that want to offer tweed in a contemporary colour combination as a stocked item.

Gentle washing at low temperature is recommended after your own pre-test. Avoid tumble drying. Press with moderate heat and use a pressing cloth.
