Petrol organza is a lightweight, crisp and transparent fabric woven from fine threads in 100% polyamide (nylon). It weighs only around 20 g/m² and has a glossy sheen that catches the light as the fabric moves. Petrol is a deep blue with a clear hint of green that shifts slightly in tone when the fabric moves.

Use it for overskirts, skirts and layers on dresses for parties and confirmations, or for small gift bags for wedding favours, gifts and table décor. Organza is also great for veils, bows, costumes and decorations where you want lightness and an airy look. In multiple layers the colour becomes deeper, and layered over another fabric, organza adds shine and a subtle tint of colour.

The fabric is smooth and frays at the edges. Place tissue paper underneath when sewing, use a fine needle, and finish the edges with a French seam or a rolled hem.
