White swimwear fabric by the metre is often used as a base in swimwear where the colour needs to look crisp with contrasts, piping or panels. The quality is suitable for swimsuits, bikinis, swim leggings and sports tops where an elastic tricot provides a smooth surface and a close fit.

The nylon/lycra blend delivers high elasticity and good recovery. This makes it easier to achieve consistent sizing in production when you match thread, elastic and seam type to the material’s stretch. The 200 g/m² weight is a swimwear standard often used when you want a balance between flexibility and coverage.

Fabric shops typically stock white as a core item because it sells steadily and is used across many ranges. Manufacturers choose white when working with repeat styles and want to be able to reorder the same quality continuously. A relevant purchasing question: How do you avoid the fabric becoming discoloured in storage? Store rolls dry and out of direct sunlight, and avoid contact with coloured materials during transport and handling.

Wash at 30 degrees, preferably inside out. Avoid tumble drying and fabric softener.
