Swimwear fabric – Black is a knitted swimwear fabric in 80% nylon and 20% lycra, 200 g/m² and 150 cm wide.

The classic black swimwear fabric offers maximum elasticity and quick drying without feeling clammy or uncomfortable. Used for swimwear, swim shorts, swimsuits, triathlon tops and water sportswear in all sizes 86–XL. The nylon–lycra blend ensures good shape retention through many hours in water and sun without becoming tight or uncomfortable.

The knitted tricot construction means the fabric has 4-way stretch – it stretches both crosswise and lengthwise without going slack or losing its shape. The high lycra content of 20% provides extra elasticity that recovers quickly after stretching – important when moving in water or during physical activity. Nylon does not absorb water like cotton, which means the garment dries much faster after swimming.

This fabric is ordered by swimwear manufacturers, sports brands focused on water activities, and fabric shops supplying both factory orders and hobby sewists. Black is a universal colour that pairs with all colours and all age groups. Stock item with consistent colour from roll to roll.

Wash at 30 degrees after each swim – salt and chlorinated water can affect the lifespan of the elastane, so rinsing is important. Avoid tumble drying. Hang on a hook or reshape and hang to dry – direct sunlight can fade the black colour over time.
