Beige is woven double gauze in 100% cotton, 130 g/m² and 135 cm wide. The warm, natural beige is a calm staple that pairs with virtually all colours.

The construction is two thin layers of gauze stitched together, making the fabric airy with a soft drape. The surface has a light, crinkled texture that is typical of muslin, and the fabric becomes softer with every wash.

Beige is used for baby swaddles, summer dresses, loose shirts and lightweight babywear in size 50 and up. The neutral tone suits both childrenswear and womenswear and is easy to build an entire collection around. The airy weave makes the fabric cool and breathable in warm weather.

A base colour like Beige is often ordered by clothing manufacturers and fabric shops that need a neutral staple that works with many shades. Hobby sewists use it for both baby swaddles, dresses and shirts where a warm, calm tone is an advantage. Consistent width and even colour from roll to roll make material planning easy in production. Wash at 30°C. Pre-washing is recommended, as double gauze shrinks slightly the first few times. Avoid tumble drying and hang to dry.
