Grey 6 oz denim is often used for lightweight jeans styles, skirts, shirts and workwear-inspired overshirts where you want a classic denim look without the fabric becoming too heavy. The woven cotton provides a calm, stable quality that is easy to cut cleanly and keep dimensionally stable in production.

The weight of 255 g/m² makes the quality suitable when you need a lighter denim fabric with good breathability. The colour is a neutral grey that works in both core collections and seasonal collections, and it is easy to match with many thread and trim colours.

Fabric shops and smaller producers often choose 6 oz denim because it can be sold broadly for both apparel and accessories such as lightweight bags and aprons. With ongoing reorders, it is an advantage that you can plan your purchasing as fabric by the metre in fixed lengths for sample and production sewing.

Wash at 30 degrees, preferably inside out, to preserve the look for as long as possible. Avoid tumble drying, and line dry items for a more stable finish.
