Petrol is woven double gauze in 100% cotton, 130 g/m² and 135 cm wide. The deep blue-green shade reads calm and matte in a lightweight fabric with a natural surface.

Specifications:

Double gauze is two thin layers of gauze bonded together. This creates air between the layers, a soft drape and a light, crinkled texture typical of muslin. The fabric feels cool against the skin and helps move heat away.

Petrol is used for summer dresses, loose shirts, tunics and babywear in sizes 50 to adult. The dark shade suits both childrenswear and womenswear and combines well with light neutrals. The colour is consistent from roll to roll, so lengths can be sewn together without visible shifts, making fabric consumption easy to plan in production.

Petrol is often ordered by fabric shops, clothing manufacturers and hobby sewists who sew in lightweight summer qualities. The deep shade works well as a dark base colour in a range where the rest is kept light and natural. Many keep the colour in stock for summer production because it is easy to resell as fabric by the metre. Stock item and ready for dispatch.

Wash at 30 degrees inside out. Pre-washing is recommended, as double gauze shrinks slightly the first few times. Avoid tumble drying and hang to dry.

Pair with a lighter shade from our gauze collection for contrast in sewing projects.

Order from 1m – delivery 1–3 business days in Scandinavia.
