Navy is a classic core colour with steady sales in both retail and production. The colour works in year-round ranges and matches easily with both light and dark shades, making it a reliable stock category.

2/1 rib has a clear rib direction and a dense, elastic structure. This quality is often used for close-fitting blouses, rib tops, dresses and leggings where you want good freedom of movement. It is also relevant for rib cuffs and sleeve finishes on sweatshirts and jackets when you want an edge with more body.

The higher weight of 300 g/m² makes the rib more shape-stable. It ripples less in seams, and garments get a calmer look on the hanger. That means fewer adjustments in production and a more consistent item on the shelf.

Fabric shops typically order navy as a staple because it is easy to reorder and sell again and again. Smaller manufacturers choose the same colour for short runs when they want to ensure a consistent tone from batch to batch.

Wash at 30 degrees, inside out. Avoid tumble drying.
