Gingham checks in sand work well for both fashion and interiors when you want a calm, classic checked look. The lightweight quality makes it suitable for shirts, summer dresses, skirts and lightweight trousers. Many also use gingham cotton for aprons, tea towels and simple interior details where a clean Scandinavian look is important.

The woven construction provides a fabric with stable drape and easier cutting than knitted qualities. Cotton canvas at 110 g/m² is a good choice when you want a lightweight fabric that still holds its shape in garments. The checks appear clearly, making it easy to cut pieces accurately and match the pattern on e.g. placket closures and pockets.

Fabric shops and smaller manufacturers often choose gingham cotton fabric as a core item because the look is timeless and easy to sell across seasons. The 140 cm width keeps consumption manageable in production, and the item is suitable for both small and mid-sized runs.

Wash at 40 degrees. Iron as needed. Avoid tumble drying if you want to minimise shrinkage.
